TomoVision Launches Medical Imaging Software sliceOmatic 4.0 for Personal Computers
Montreal, February 23th, 2000
- TomoVision Inc. announces the release of sliceOmatic 4.0, a medical imaging
software for personal computer workstations with a powerful segmentation and
tissue tagging module.
This highly interactive software is designed for research center, radiology
departments and medical offices. sliceOmatic 4.0 enables physicians
to display medical images and perform anatomical volume calculations. "Researchers
have been using previous versions of sliceOmatic for years, but these were running
on high-end computers. With this version, TomoVision is contributing to making
medical imaging technology more accessible to researcher and medical professionals
by producing affordable and powerful visualization software packages that are
supported by standard PC workstations," says President and Chief Engineer
Yves Martel.
sliceOmatic 4.0 allows users to manipulate medical images produced
by different scanner applications including CT Scan (Computerized Tomography),
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), Nuclear Medicine and Digital X-rays. "It's
the logical continuity to our product line to introduce a new low-priced and
high-performance software package, and we believe we are meeting the requirements
of the medical market. The market is rapidly evolving towards digital technologies.
Manufacturers of medical imagery equipment are confronted by new challenges,
and TomoVision is ready to face them," adds Marketing Director Hélène Jobin.
TomoVision is preparing to distribute its products through direct sales and
distributors in the United States and Canada.
