TomoVision Releases sliceOmatic 4.2 at the 2001 ISMRM Meeting in Glasgow
Glasgow, UK, April 23, 2001
- TomoVision Inc. announces the release of sliceOmatic 4.2, a medical imaging software for personal computer with a powerful segmentation and tissue tagging module. New tools have been added to the already powerful sliceOmatic 4.1.
Among the new tools, a completely new segmentation technique has been implemented: the active contours, also known as snakes. "The snakes are ideal to segment organs in CT and MRI images. Adding the snakes in sliceOmatic perfectly complement the already existing segmenting tools. All these tools are closely integrated enabling the user to get fast, accurate and repetitive results from his images", commented Yves Martel president of TomoVision.
Also new in this release are the region of interest, a snapshot tool and the possibility to export contour lines from the segmented images, greatly helping the integration of the results produced by sliceOmatic to CAD programs such as GeoMagic.
